Director of Finance | Advanstar Communications | Santa Ana, CA DIRECTOR OF FINANCE Advanstar Communications Inc. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced (over 7 years) finance professional to lead the administration, monitoring and continuous improvement of the financial performance of assigned business groups/units. Reporting to the CFO, the successful individual will partner with business unit managers and the executive management team to effectively analyze and identify ways to improve business processes and operating performance at the profit center and group/division units. As a “thought partner” to the management team you will guide and advise the executive team and business unit managers on possible strategies for each business, actively contributing to analysis and development of new strategies. You will also be involved in strategic assessment of all acquisition and divestiture strategies for the division. This role requires a strong academic background with a BA in accounting, business administration or a related field and at least 7 years of progressive experience in planning and analysis/financial management within divisions or corporate staff of top tier companies. Publishing or trade show experience a plus. A MBA in Finance or Accounting or CPA preferred. Interested candidates should have advanced PC skills in MS Excel, word, PowerPoint and experience with Oracle financial systems are a plus. We are an EOE and committed to a diversified workplace.
